GREENHOUSE SYSTEMS

Up & Down System

Our cutting-edge and advantageous technology is designed to enhance greenhouse productivity. Developed following a detailed analysis of load-bearing capacities in both new and existing structures, this system enables highly efficient use of available space.

By increasing the cultivation density, the Up & Down System can double the number of plants grown per square metre.

The device allows growers to diversify production by planting different crop varieties simultaneously.

Our system leads to speed up the harvest time.

It is particularly suited for soilless cultivation, including strawberries, lettuce, and saffron.

Its mechanism enables the alternating raising and lowering of the gutters, greatly facilitating operator tasks and improving harvest efficiency.

Additionally, it maximises resource use through economies of scale, significantly boosting overall productivity.

GREENHOUSE SYSTEMS

Our types of systems

Heating systems

Proper greenhouse design and ventilation are crucial for passive climate control. However, when passive measures are insufficient, active heating systems become necessary to optimise plant production. Europrogress designs and installs both aerial and basal heating systems, adaptable to different energy sources. Heat can be distributed via hot air or hot water depending on specific requirements. Aerial heating systems use burners to generate warm air, ensuring uniform climate conditions and reducing humidity. Basal heating, on the other hand, employs heating cables or hot water pipes installed beneath the soil or growing benches, promoting healthy root development while maintaining optimal ground temperatures. Both systems are customised to meet the specific needs of each project.

Automatic heat shields

These advanced climate control solutions feature perforated aluminium fabric, placed on a natural cotton backing, sliding along precision rails. Our automatic heat shields significantly enhance energy efficiency and crop quality inside greenhouses. Depending on the weave type, they regulate sunlight intensity by providing appropriate shading when needed and ensuring even light distribution. Their reflective properties help minimise heat loss and protect plants from excessive solar radiation. As a result, automatic heat shields contribute to substantial energy savings, optimising the overall greenhouse environment for better plant growth and resource management.

Cooling systems

When ventilation and shade screens are not enough to maintain optimal greenhouse temperatures, dedicated cooling systems are required. As the global climate becomes increasingly hot and dry, these systems are more essential than ever. Our devices work through the natural water evaporation to cool the air: warm outside air passes through moist pads where water evaporates, absorbing heat and reducing the air temperature. This cooled air is then circulated throughout the greenhouse using fans, ensuring a stable and suitable environment for plant development even during extreme heat.

Irrigation systems

Efficient irrigation systems are essential for plant health and productivity. They also have a cooling function. Europrogress offers multiple solutions:

  • Drip irrigation: the most widely used and efficient method, based on drip heads providing the proper supply of water directly to the plant’s roots with minimal waste.
  • Mist irrigation: produces a fine mist, ideal for propagating cuttings and maintaining high humidity levels.
  • Flood and drain system: common in soilless cultivation, where the substrate is periodically flooded with a nutrient solution and then drained, ensuring excellent root aeration.

Each system is tailored to the specific requirements of the crops, providing controlled and efficient water management.

Sliding bars for irrigation

Sliding irrigation bars are an efficient solution for large-scale greenhouses specialising in seedling production. A moving bar systematically irrigates the crops, ensuring a uniform distribution of water across the entire growing area. This automated system optimises irrigation times, reduces manual labour, and improves consistency in crop watering.

Fertigation systems

These devices supply plants with both water and nutrients, improving production efficiency. They consist of a pumping system for the proper distribution of water, a fertiliser tank for nutrient storage, and a fertiliser mixer to ensure the correct measurement of water and nutrients, as well as their even blending. A filtration system removes impurities, guaranteeing a high-quality solution. Finally, a network of pipes and drip heads delivers the enriched water directly to the plant roots. This method enhances nutrient uptake, conserves resources, and promotes healthier plant growth.

Climatic control unit

All greenhouse systems can be centrally managed through advanced climatic control units. These devices, equipped with sophisticated sensors, monitor and regulate internal and external climate factors affecting productivity such as temperature, humidity, wind speed, light intensity, and CO₂ concentration. By integrating data collection and analysis, the climatic unit supports growers in making informed decisions tailored to the specific needs of their crops. It is an essential tool for optimising environmental conditions and improving the overall productivity and sustainability of greenhouse operations.

LIGHTING TECHNOLOGIES

Lighting systems for greenhouses

Greenhouse lighting systems provide plants with the light they need for photosynthesis, particularly in environments with limited natural light. Each plant species has its own light requirements, which is why Europrogress develops and produces cutting-edge horticultural lighting solutions. Our lamps and lighting modules are designed to maximise plant growth, enhance crop yields, and preserve plants’ nutritional qualities. By offering targeted light spectra and intensities, our systems ensure optimal photosynthetic efficiency, making them a vital element for modern greenhouse farming.
